Good oral health plays an important role in overall employee health and wellbeing.

We understand that employee absence has a big impact on a small business; that’s why we’ve teamed up with Bupa to offer a Dental Insurance Plan designed with the small business in mind.

Oral health plays such an important role in overall health and wellbeing. As an employer, helping employees to access private dental care will lead to good oral health and lessen the likelihood of absenteeism or taking extra time off work for treatment.

The Bupa Dental Plan

Simple and easy to manage and offers employees valuable benefits.  .

  • Access to Bupa’s nationwide network of selected Bupa owned dental practices. If your employees want to use their own dentist they can.
  • No financial limit on Oral cancer claims. This benefit is eligible after six months continuous membership. However, CLA members who switch from another provider, will be eligible to claim this benefit from Day 1.
  • If you currently have a group Dental Insurance policy through another provider, Bupa will guarantee to beat your renewal premium by up to 10% (terms & conditions apply and is subject to a maximum discount of 50% off Bupa’s base premium).
  • No forms, no fuss – Provided your treatment is covered and within benefit limits, when you visit participating centres in Bupa’s Dental Insurance network Bupa will settle the claim directly so you won’t need to ‘pay now and claim back later’.
  • Discounted treatment – Bupa members can gain up to 20% discount off the cost of general dentistry, which could help make policy limits go further.
  • Specially available through Howden Employee Benefits & Wellbeing – Customers who opt for Level 4 cover will automatically receive Level 5 cover benefits at no additional cost.
  • Appointment guarantee – If your own dentist cannot see you or is operating a restricted service, Bupa can arrange an appointment with a Bupa dentist.

The above is intended to provide a helpful overview of the scheme’s benefits but For full details and terms & conditions click here.

Why Dental Insurance

Dental services have been severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and it will take many months to clear the back log. Currently, most Dental practices are focusing on emergency care and rearranging courses of treatment that were cancelled as a result of the lockdowns. Routine services, such as check-ups may not yet be available from all dental practices and it could be sometime before dentists catch up.

As an employer, you want to do what you can to help support your employees’ health and wellbeing. Offering Dental Insurance is a great way for you to do this.

It’s easy to see the value

Everyone needs good dental care. Employees will typically use their Dental Insurance at least twice a year – and feel good about it, thanks to you supporting their health and wellbeing.

It helps reduce time spent away from work

With over 400 Bupa-owned practices nationwide, there’s likely to be a practice close to home or work – helping your employees take less time out of their working day.

Your employees may already be considering it

With the dental insurance market growing, it’s the opportunity to show your employees that you’re acting pro-actively to help look after their needs’.
